The new consensus: what global warming crisis? | Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog

How much longer can our politicians ignore the science – and now this new consensus?:

Don’t look now, but maybe a scientific consensus exists concerning global warming after all. Only 36 percent of geoscientists and engineers believe that humans are creating a global warming crisis, according to a survey reported in the peer-reviewed Organization Studies. By contrast, a strong majority of the 1,077 respondents believe that nature is the primary cause of recent global warming and/or that future global warming will not be a very serious problem.

Dr Denis MacEoin is a former lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies and a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Gatestone Institute. He, too, calls for a reform of Islam, although I am increasingly pessimistic about that being even possible:The problem is simpler than any politician or moderate Muslim or Christian outreach foundation journalist has ever been willing to admit: Many Muslims who want to turn young believers away from jihad or hatred of Christians, Jews and other non-believers are trapped. They are trapped because the Qur’an—the six compilations of sacred traditions the ahadith, which make up holy writ, as well as the biography of Muhammad the sira—all condone or command jihad and hatred for non-believers, and they do so abundantly.

The ABC folks are just ‘educating’ us

SHOWPIECE ABC news and current affairs programs are failing to pull strong audiences, according to ratings data released in response to senate estimates committee questioning.

The ABC has long lost touch with the mainstream public, but to them the public has lost touch with them. Why? To fix the ABC, we must first understand it.

The ABC staff don’t hide that they see their mission as ‘civilizing’ and educating Australia, something that most of the population would not pay for and thus commercial networks will never deliver.

They are partly right in this.
And indeed I do want to see informative docos and quality programs free of ads.

Consequently, as an educator, the ABC sees its duty to not necessarily reflect public opinion, but to correct and create the right public opinion.

Their duty is not just present news, but to present it in a way to help viewers derive the correct meaning from the news.

Their duty is not to present both sides of a debates regardless of right and wrong, but to favor the correct side of the debate so as not to mislead the public that the wrong side has equal weight.

Their duty is not even to present the truth, if knowing the truth may cause harm to the population, but to present the issue in a responsible way, even if it involves bending the truth.

Their duty is also to counteract the relentless pressure of commercial interests via advertising, via influence on commercial media and by government lobbyists, with the pure public spiritedness of the ABC.

Finally, their responsibility is to educate the Australian public to elect ‘responsible’ caring governments, ones not beholden to capitalist greed and, of course, governments who will safeguard the ABC’s critical mission.

You see?
They are not evil, they are just helping us.

The problem of course is that, they are a cabal of raving lunatic leftists.

So, as leftists and unlike conservatives, they believe that they have the ultimate truth. They believe that their audience needs to be convinced of the truth, that once all see the truth, society will be better for it and thus any opposing views are evil. I.e. they are benevolent totalitarians.

Root cause?
University capture by ‘never grew up’ leftist academics and self selection of benevolent ‘service to society’ types into journalism.

The solution?
These ABC people can’t change. You can’t make them say what they believe is wrong and evil.

Maybe restructure, spill all positions halve the budget and start again.

Maybe remove all news and current affairs from the ABC and contract them to commercial stations. Then we just have to watch climate catastrophism and their eco-totalitarianism.

It’s OK to be anti-Islam – but not anti-Muslim

Patrick “Pat” Condell is a writer, comedian and atheist internet personality. He performed alternative comedy shows during the 1980s and 1990s in the United Kingdom, and won a Time Out Comedy Award in 1991.

He explains why he dislikes Islam – because there is not much to like, and if you invented it today, what with killing apostates, blasphemers and adulterers and homosexuals, you would be rightly locked up for your own good. This commentary is blindingly clear and hilarious, if it were not tragic.

Look here for his many references.

Another video on Pat’s website is ‘A cure for Islamophobia’. Indeed, there is no such thing – because a phobia is an irrational fear of something. A fear of a hostile murderous totalitarian ideology, killing your kind for being your kind and infiltrating your country is hardly irrational, no matter how peaceful they claim to be. The Allies did not have Nazi-phobia, US didn’t have Commie-phobia and Australians threatened by ISIS and Iraqis being killed by ISIS today are not Islamophobic.

What’s all this Islam fuss about…oh wait, Islam means Submission?

Peace or Jihad? Abrogation in Islam

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a global resurgence of Islamic territorial expansion. This is through immigration, through cultural and political insinuation and finally through war and terror. Why, when Islam is a religion of Peace?

Well, it seems the bad news is that Islam is a religion of submission, not peace and tolerance. There will be jihad and no peace until all lands are governed by Muslims. Islam clearly directs Muslims towards Jihad – the struggle for personal and societal submission to Islam. The root word of Islam is “al-silm” which means “submission” or “surrender.” It is understood to mean “submission to Allah.”

But there are many passages in the Qur’an preaching peace and tolerance towards other religions. No verse is more frequently cited by contemporary Muslims preachers and analysts to depict Islam as peaceful and compassionate as 2:256, “Let there be no compulsion in religion.”The problem is that these early passages, written revealed by Mohammed when he was weak in Mecca, are abrogated or superseded by later militant passages when he became stronger in Medina.

That there is no compulsion in Islam and that Islam is a religion of peace are common refrains among Muslim activists,[1] academics,[2] officials,[3] and journalists.[4].

In an age of terrorism and violent jihad, nowhere, they argue, does the Qur’an allow Muslims to fight non-Muslims solely because they refuse to become Muslim.[5] Proponents of Islamic tolerance point to a number of Qur’anic verses which admonish violence and advocate peace, tolerance, and compromise.[6]. But not all verses in the Qur’an have the same weight in assessment. The Qur’an is unique among sacred scriptures in accepting a doctrine of abrogation in which later pronouncements of the Prophet declare null and void his earlier pronouncements.[9]

During the lifetime of Muhammad, the Islamic community passed through three stages. In the beginning from 610 until 622, God commanded restraint. As the Muslims relocated to Medina (623-26), God permitted Muslims only to fight in a defensive war. However, in the last six years of Muhammad’s life (626-32), God permitted Muslims to fight an aggressive war first against polytheists,[52] and later against monotheists like the Jews of Khaybar.[53] Once Muhammad was given permission to kill in the name of God, he instigated battle.

Chapter 9 of the Qur’an, in English called “Ultimatum,” is the most important concerning the issues of abrogation and jihad against unbelievers. It is the only chapter that does not begin “in the name of God, most benevolent, ever-merciful.”[54]. David Powers, a well-known researcher of classical Islam, agreed that 9:5 abrogates no less than 124 verses that command or imply anything less than a total offensive against the non-believers.

Defensive warfare in Islam is nothing but a phase of the Islamic mission that the Prophet practiced. After that, it was followed by another phase, that is, calling all people to embrace Islam. Even for People of the Book, there can be no role except conversion to Islam or subjugation to Muslim rule. Hence, Muhammad’s statement, “They would not invade you, but you invade them.”[63]

And…Islam a Religion of Peace? Actions Say Otherwise.

In conclusion, Islam is about submission …of the whole world to Allah through Jihad. Majority of Muslims probably don’t care and would prefer to just get on with life, but under Islam they are hypocrites punishable by death. Many Muslims perform Jihad peacefully, on a personal level, through immigration and advocacy. Many also do it violently with terror and war. But they are all obligated by Islam to eventually subjugate you and me to Allah.

Tony Abbott – perceptive comment on attempt to break up UK

“What the Scots do is a matter for the Scots and not for a moment do I presume to tell Scottish voters which way they should vote,” Mr Abbott said.

“As a friend of Britain, as an observer from afar, it’s hard to see how the world would be helped by an independent Scotland.

“I think that the people who would like to see the break-up of the United Kingdom are not the friends of justice, the friends of freedom, and the countries that would cheer at the prospect … are not the countries whose company one would like to keep.”

You should see the vitriol against Abbott on the ABC story comments – too stupid or biased to understand even the simpler concepts of Abbott’s thoughtful analysis.

Firstly, unlike the leftist useful idiots, Abbott has a global perspective of liberal West vs illiberal East and Asia (like it or not, lefties, it’s a simple  fact). In this context, those wanting to divide the western countries into ever smaller and weaker countries are ‘no friends of freedom’ in weakening what remains of western liberal countries.

Secondly, there was significant bullying by the Yes campaigners – people and business were saying they were afraid to oppose it – and the poll result certainly supports this. This was not a good way to start a free country.

The pause in surface temperature warming has sparked a new phase of research in the climate sciences. Among other effects, it invalidated several high profile forecasts.
